Organist Nico D. Blom (1964) studied organ at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where he obtained his final diploma after six years of organ studies. His teachers were André Verwoerd and Bernard Winsemius. He also studied choir and orchestra conducting as well as church music subjects there for some time under, among others, Barend Schuurman and Arie van Beek. To further develop his skills as a choir conductor, he attended the renowned Kurt Thomas Course several times. He won the highest category of the Gorcum Organ Competition twice. Currently, he is the conductor of the mixed choir “Hosanna” in Boskoop.

Nico Blom is a church organist in the Lutheran and Reformed churches in Gorinchem. As a performing musician, he regularly gives concerts both as an accompanist and soloist both domestically and abroad. Nico Blom is the permanent concert organist of the "Stadsknapenkoor Gorcum," with whom he has produced several CDs and undertook a concert tour through England.

In addition to his work as a piano and organ teacher, he is also active as a composer. Several of his vocal and instrumental compositions have already been published.n 2001 and 2003.
