Laure Dermaut began her musical studies at the music academies of Menen and Ypres where she studied violin, viola, cello, piano, organ (with Eric Hallein), and harpsichord. In 2000, she won a first prize for violin in the national competition 'Dexia Classics.' In June 2006, Laure obtained the degree 'Master in Music' at the conservatory of Ghent, where she studied violin with Rudolph Werthen. During this training, she studied organ as a secondary instrument with Dirk Verschraegen.

Since 2006, she has focused on the organ. She took lessons at the conservatory of Rotterdam with Ben van Oosten. In June 2012, she earned her Master's degree at the conservatory of Ghent in the class of Ignace Michiels, graduating with great distinction and the highest honors for organ. She also received the special prize from the De Blonde-Torck legacy for her outstanding organ examination.

Furthermore, she attended masterclasses with, among others, Daniel Roth, Michel Bouvard, Jean-Baptiste Robin, Harald Vogel, Reitze Smits, and Olivier Latry. Laure regularly performs, both solo and with orchestra and choir. She has performed at the International Organ Festivals of Bruges, Ghent, and Breda, and has also performed on the famous Cavaillé-Coll organ in the Philharmonie in Haarlem.

In 2012, her debut album was released by Animato Music Productions featuring works by Gabriël Verschraegen, Edgar Tinel, and Camil van Hulse. In March 2016, she contributed to the CD recording 'Vox Aggiornamento' with a recording of a work by Canadian composer Rachel Laurin. She is currently working at the Art Academy in Geraardsbergen.
