Corné van der Giessen was born on January 5, 1986. From a young age, he had an interest in music and received his first organ lessons from Bert Roest. He started his first pan flute lessons at the age of seven from Pieter Dijksman from Ridderkerk. After twelve years, he continued his lessons with Liselotte Rokyta.

Besides playing the pan flute, playing the organ is also a hobby. In recent years, he has taken organ lessons with Hayo Boerema at the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam.
Additionally, he released a solo CD titled "Con Espressione" with the assistance of a string orchestra, horn, and piano. In 2017, the second CD "Tricolore" was released together with Leon Koppelman - pan flute and Jan Peter Teeuw - organ.

Music is the only language in the world that all people can understand.

Corné plays various pan flutes: the bass, tenor, and alto pan flute. The most commonly used pan flute is the alto pan flute. The pipes of this pan flute are made of Grenadilla (African Blackwood), a hardwood with great wear resistance.mainly used for musical instruments (oboe, clarinet, flute). This black type of wood has a warmer sound than the usual bamboo pan flutes. Because the density of the wood plays a major role in the sound, it is possible to create a large volume without changing the timbre. All pan flutes are built by the Romanian pan flute maker Ion Preda.
