Chr. Mannenkoor ''Con Forza'', Woerden

More than 7.6k times played this month

Christian men's choir CON FORZA from Woerden was founded on September 7, 1993. Originated from the need to provide a positive Christian men's choir, whose repertoire consists of spiritual songs, based on God's Word. The music also had to be widely accessible to the singers and listeners, so that the songs are mainly sung and performed in the Dutch language. In this way, this men's choir has acquired its own face and place in the choral world, but has also built up its own audience.

The choir started with about 35 members. Currently the choir has about 90 members. The singers come from Woerden itself as well as from the wider area of this place. Every Tuesday evening they rehearse in the Reformed Kruiskerk. The church background of the members is also very diverse. Almost all denominations are represented. However, this does not stand in the way of unity among the members.

Con Forza is under the musical direction of conductor Willem Nijhof. He has taken over the baton from Bert Moll. In the past, the choir has been led by Martin Mans, who was the conductor from the foundation of the choir. The choir also works a lot with other well-known musicians, e.g.: Wim de Penning as regular organist at concerts, Arjan and Edith Post, Willemijn, etc.
