Conductor Wim van Galen was already in charge of a choir at the age of eighteen. He received his musical education from Henk Kwakkel and Johan van Dommele. The well-known conductor Anton Krelage trained him for the choir conductor's diploma.
Various mixed choirs and male choirs were or are under his leadership. He has given his heart to sacred music.
He often arranges (foreign) music for his choirs and, if necessary, also writes Dutch texts for them.
A large number of these arrangements have been published by various publishers.
