Wim de Weerd was born in Elspeet in 1972. At a young age his interest in music was aroused, especially the organ. He has been taking organ lessons from his uncle Dries van den Berg since the age of eight. He is most interested in French and German romanticism. He also enjoys improvising on psalms and hymns. He is currently the permanent organist of the Reformed Church in the Netherlands in Elspeet, where he enjoys accompanying the congregation.
