Wim de Graaf was born in Leerdam in 1970. His musical talent became apparent at an early age. At age seven, he received his first organ lessons from Frans van Tilburg. Two years later, he began playing the piano and continued with Piet Meijer until 1982. From 1983 to 1992, he studied organ and piano with Peter R. Witteveen.
In addition, Wim de Graaf took violin lessons from the age of eight and played in the Lodenstein Orchestra. Since its founding in 1995, he has conducted the youth choir "Schóschannim." Wim de Graaf is the organist at the Dutch Reformed Church in Wekerom and accompanies various choirs on piano.
