The Westlands Men’s Choir is a general choir that is not bound to any particular musical movement or repertoire. The choir was founded on October 19, 1956, and has grown from 33 men from the Westland region to 150 members, who by now no longer come exclusively from Westland. From its very beginning, the choir was conducted by Piet Struijk until his passing on November 25, 1992. The television series De Glazen Stad gave the choir a significant boost in popularity, and today, under the direction of Hans de Wit, the men from the “Glass City,” the so-called garden of the Netherlands, are still much in demand for performances.

The Westlands Men’s Choir has given many concerts both in the Netherlands and abroad, including during a tour of Canada and a performance in the Arena di Verona.

Many soloists of great renown and reputation have collaborated with the choir. Over the years, the choir has released 14 LPs and several singles, as well as a number of CDs, one of which was recorded with Nana Mouskouri and the Metropole Orchestra. The choir has already been awarded a gold record on four occasions.
