Thom Hesseling (born 1964) was born and raised in Alphen aan den Rijn, but has lived in the Veluwe region of the municipality of Nunspeet since 2003. He began his musical education with Alphen aan den Rijn organist Eltjo Bos. At 16, he switched to Utrecht organist/musician Piet van der Steen. For over 10 years, he took organ lessons and other music lessons with this musician. Under the guidance of this disciplined and inspiring musician, Thom has become a valued amateur musician who isn't afraid to add musical touches. Until 2003, Thom was organist at the Dutch Reformed Church of Hazerswoude-dorp and the Federal Congregation 'Sion Church' in Alphen aan den Rijn. He studied choral conducting with Henk Gijzen. Thom is a sought-after accompanist for CD recordings, concerts, and singing evenings. He also often steps in as a conductor for other choirs in emergencies, temporarily. He has been conducting the Christian Gem. Zangver. "De Lofstem" (The Voice of Laughter) in Woubrrgge since 1994. This new CD, "God is Everywhere," is the third the choir has recorded under his inspiring leadership.
