Sebastiaan Haverkate
More than 308 times played this month
Sebastiaan Haverkate was born in 1993 and began playing the trumpet at the age of ten with the PTT Fanfare in Hengelo.
Starting from wind music, he developed into a versatile trumpeter and musician. He studied both light and classical music at the conservatories of Arnhem and Utrecht, respectively. He combined this with a study of Earth Sciences at Utrecht University.
Sebastiaan is now fully active in music as a teacher, conductor, and arranger, but still prefers playing the trumpet above all. His versatility allows him to combine almost all styles.
In recent years, he has performed with, among others, the National Youth Orchestra, Ars Musica, and the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht.
A special place is held by the Sweelinck Brass Quintet, which Sebastiaan founded in 2018: a unique brass ensemble that almost always performs in combination with organ. For Sebastiaan, the Sweelinck Brass Quintet is the ultimate combination of brass, organ, friendship, joy of playing, and above all, beautiful music.
