Born in Milan in 1965, Riccardo Doni graduated in organ and organ composition at the A. Boito Conservatory in Parma, under the guidance of Lorenzo Ghielmi. He later studied organ and harpsichord in the class of Jean Claude Zehnder at the Schola Cantorum in Basle.
Since 1994 he has been a permanent collaborator of the prestigious ensemble Il Giardino Armonico in Milan, as harpsichordist and organist. He is harpsichordist of the Imaginarium ensemble created in 2002 by the violinist Enrico Onofri, and since 2008 he has been playing with the violinist Giuliano Carmignola, with whom he has given concerts in some important Italian and European cities.
Since 2010 he has been music director of the Accademia dell’Annunciata. He has recorded for Decca, Teldec, Alpha, Arcana, Zig Zag Territoires, Naïve, Opus 111, Passacaille, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Supraphon, Amadeus, Nichion and Musica Viva.
