Paul van der Feen is considered one of the leading saxophonists in the Netherlands.

As a member of the Metropole Orkest, he has performed with countless stars such as Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, Elvis Costello, Gregory Porter, Al Jarreau, and John Scofield, and has featured as a soloist on several Grammy Award-winning recordings.

The sixth child in an extraordinarily musical family, Paul grew up jamming with his brothers Mark, Matthijs, and Clemens, with whom he formed the Feenbrothers. He began his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam at the age of 16 and completed them in New York at the age of 22. In the years that followed, Paul explored various musical styles such as funk, fusion, hip-hop, and classical, but was drawn back to jazz after rediscovering John Coltrane—and has since moved freely between genres.

Paul was a prizewinner at the prestigious White Foundation World Saxophone Competition, after which he performed with several renowned ensembles both in the Netherlands and abroad, including the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. He also initiated various projects with friend and drummer Roy Dackus, such as the band Odyssee and the project Inception with trumpeter Alex Sipiagin.

As a Christian, Paul is convinced of the power of music to speak to both the soul and the mind—revealing Faith, Hope, and Love, just as a melody can resonate with our inner being by finding rest in the tonal trinity.
