Estonian Grammy winner Paavo Järvi is considered one of today’s leading conductors, collaborating with the world’s greatest orchestras. He is Music Director of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Artistic Director of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 2004, and founder and Artistic Director of the Estonian Festival Orchestra.

Järvi continues his Mahler cycle with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and has previously recorded works by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Bruckner, Messiaen, and John Adams. Each season concludes with two weeks of performances and masterclasses at the Pärnu Music Festival, which he founded in 2011. The festival and its resident orchestra have led to invitations to the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Vienna, BBC Proms, and Suntory Hall Tokyo.

As a guest conductor, he regularly appears with the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Philharmonia, and New York Philharmonic, and maintains close ties with former orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris and NHK Symphony Orchestra.

His awards include a Grammy (2003), ‘Artist of the Year’ from Gramophone and Diapason (2015), the Sibelius Medal, Conductor of the Year (2019), the Rheingau Music Prize, and the European Cultural Prize (2022)
