Percussion and piano
Nynke took her first steps on the musical path with piano and percussion lessons. At the conservatory of The Hague she studied with pianist Geoffrey Madge. She then continued her piano studies in combination with percussion at the Rotterdam Conservatory. She was taught by pianist Michael Davidson, timpanist Randy Max and timpanist/percussionist Willem Heesen. Ruud Wiener and Robert van Sice taught her melodic percussion such as marimba and vibraphone. Nynke has participated in masterclasses with Michael Rosen, Nachiko Maekane and Graham Johns, among others. In Rotterdam she obtained her diploma Performing Musician Percussion. Because Nynke studied piano in her main subject, she can supervise (her students and choirs) during lessons and performances.

Nynke is timpanist and percussionist with The Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands conducted by Pieter Jan Leusink. She is also a percussionist with Sinfonia Rotterdam, conducted by Sinfonia Rotterdam. Conrad van Alphen and plays as a freelancer with various orchestras such as Holland Orkest Combinatie (HOC), Accompagnato (formerly Continuo Rotterdam), NASKA and other accompaniment orchestras in the country. Nynke has also been working for at least 15 years as a timpanist and percussionist for the TV program Nederland Zingt of the Evangelical Broadcasting Corporation.
