M. Kanis (1934 – 12 August 2000) was a Dutch writer. He wrote 27 Christian children's books about the Second World War in the Netherlands and about Israel.
Kanis, as Uncle Rien, also contributed to the children's page in the Reformatorisch Dagblad for fourteen years by means of a Biblical puzzle.
Kanis had a career in education. After he was rejected in 1980 because of damage to the retinas, he started writing.
