Even during his conservatory training as a cellist, Luca discovered a passion for composing and songwriting. His interest in various musical styles went hand in hand with experimenting with different instruments, such as guitar and piano. After playing in his first bands during his teenage years and performing with Italian singer-songwriter Albino Montisci, international travels and collaborations with various European artists quickly followed.
In addition to the cello, playing bass guitar and Irish whistles increasingly brought Luca to stages and recording studios with artists such as Adrian Snell, Andreas Vollenweider, Nina Åström, Julie and Buddy Miller, Iona, Edwin Hawkins, Johannes Nitsch, Albert Frey, Ralph van Manen, Kees Kraayenoord, Reyer, and many others.
After moving to the Netherlands in the 1990s, composing music for television and films, as well as arranging, producing, and mixing CDs, began to take up more and more of Luca’s time—alongside session work for hundreds of albums.
Luca’s passion lies in collaborating with other musicians and singers, in creating beauty together, and in worshiping and glorifying God through the language of art.
