Lieve Van de Rostyne is titular organist in the church of Our Lady of Heaven Taken in Overmere, where she is also a member of the organ committee. She is also the organist in the St. Martin's Church and the Bareldonk Chapel in Berlare. She studied organ and harp at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, where she obtained the laureate and master diploma in 1995 with first prizes in harmony and organ with great distinction (with Mr. Joris Verdin). In 1998 she obtained the "Diplôme National d'Etudes Supérieures Musicales" at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon (Fr) with Prof. Jean Boyer. Both during and after her studies, she participated in various competitions at home and abroad. She became a laureate of the Pro Civitate competition (B) and of the organ competitions in Boxtel (NL) and Herk-de-Stad (B). She won the first prize at the beguinage competition for female organists in Dendermonde (B), became semi-finalist at the Bach competition of the Festival of Flanders in Bruges (B) and she won second prize at the first international organ competition of Battipaglia (It).
She currently teaches organ and harp lessons and instrumental ensemble at the academies of Aalst, Lebbeke, Wetteren and Zottegem and she is an accompanist in Lebbeke. She regularly performs at home and abroad, both as a soloist and in chamber music or orchestra, or as an accompanist for soloists and/or choirs.
In addition, she was a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Orgelkunst" until 2017, for which she recorded a CD with work by Jozef Tilborghs in 2005 in the Sint-Annakerk in Ghent on the Schyven/Andriessen organ. In 2007 she realized a CD for "the Organ in Flanders" on the large Maximilien Van Peteghem organ from 1861 in the Collegiate Church of Our Lady in Dendermonde.
