Le Concert de la Loge
More than 21 times played this month
Founded in January 2015 by violinist Julien Chauvin, Le Concert de la Loge is a period-instrument orchestra inspired by the historic Concert de la Loge Olympique, one of the most prestigious ensembles of late-18th-century France and commissioner of Haydn’s celebrated ‘Paris’ Symphonies. Reviving the spirit of that era, the ensemble presents chamber, symphonic and operatic programmes ranging from the Baroque to the early 20th century, often directed from the violin.
The orchestra has toured internationally with operas by Haydn, Sacchini and Lemoyne, and regularly collaborates with leading soloists such as Karina Gauvin, Sandrine Piau and Philippe Jaroussky. Its recordings—including Haydn’s complete ‘Paris’ Symphonies and rediscovered French and Italian repertoire—have received major critical awards.
Originally named Le Concert de la Loge Olympique, the ensemble adopted its current name in 2016. It is supported by major French cultural institutions and sponsors, and holds several artistic residencies in France.
