Laura Ingalls Wilder

More than 453 times played this month

Laura Ingalls Wilder only began writing later in life; her first book was published in 1932. She wrote eight children's books about her youth. Through the eyes of a growing girl, she described the sometimes difficult life on the prairie, the daily experiences at home and at school, and the unspoiled nature. The stories are autobiographical and largely “based on true events,” though not everything is entirely historically accurate.
