The Christian Community Choir Zuiderzangertjes were jointly founded in Putten on May 21, 1965. The association started with 29 members and 40 youth members, under the direction of conductor J. Petersen.
In 1969, he was succeeded by Mr. E. vd Kamp.
Since 1980, the choirs have been led by their current conductor, Bert Koelewijn.
Bert Koelewijn obtained his Music Education B certificate for Electronic Organ and Church Organ at the Utrecht Conservatory and his Piano Diploma from the Hilversum Conservatory. He now teaches at the Amersfoort Regional Music School. Under his capable leadership, 't Zuiderkoor and the Zuiderzangertjes have further developed into choirs with a broad repertoire. Several albums, MCs, and CDs have been released. The two choirs form a unit and almost always perform together.
In October 1992, they toured Canada.
Currently, the group has approximately 110 members, 40 of whom belong to the children's/youth choir.
