The Basel Chamber Orchestra is one of today’s leading chamber orchestras, performing regularly at major international festivals and concert halls and presenting its own concert series in Basel. Its artistic excellence is reflected in over thirty award-winning recordings and prestigious honours including Echo Klassik’s Best Ensemble and a Swiss Music Award. Working with renowned artists and conductors such as Giovanni Antonini and Philippe Herreweghe, the orchestra performs a wide repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music, with a strong focus on historically informed performance. Education projects and creative work with young people are central to its mission, supported since 2019 by the Clariant Foundation as presenting sponsor.
