Juliette Hurel is a renowned French flautist, acclaimed both in France and internationally. A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, she has won numerous prizes, including the Jean-Pierre Rampal Competition, and was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2004.
She performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician alongside artists such as Martha Argerich, Gidon Kremer, and Truls Mørk, and has appeared with major orchestras including the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal.
A passionate advocate of contemporary music, she has collaborated with composers like Pierre Boulez and Pascal Dusapin. Her acclaimed discography includes recordings for labels such as Naïve, Zig-Zag Territoires, and Alpha Classics.
Since 1998, Hurel has been principal flautist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and has taught at Codarts Conservatory since 2010.
