Jos Moeke was born on March 22, 1978 in Putten. From the age of nine he received organ lessons from various teachers. He received lessons from
Herman van Vliet for more than a decade, in the Grote of St. Joriskerk in Amersfoort. He studied
organ with Jan Raas and piano with Henk Ekkel at the Utrecht Conservatory. He obtained his final diploma in 2003.
In addition, he took interpretation lessons with Jean Guillou and Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin.
His preference goes out to French and German symphonic romanticism. He also likes to search for unknown (organ) works by e.g. Charles-Marie Widor and Lefébure-Wély.
