Johan de Ridder (1946), has been active as a singer in various choirs since his childhood. After studying organ (harmonium) himself, he took organ lessons with J. Suurmond, a well-known conductor/organist on Walcheren at the time. At the same time, he followed the choir conducting course at the Zeeland Music School. From 1979 to 1990, he conducted the "Walchers Mannenkoor" in Vlissingen. Since 1991, he has been the conductor of the male choir "De Lofzang" in Goes. He is also the reserve conductor of three other Zeeland male choirs. His aim is to have the choir sing in such a way that God's Word is conveyed through the text of the songs.
