The youth choir 'Hosanna' was founded in 1969. The choir is part of the singing association 'Vox Humana'. This association is affiliated with the Reformed Congregation in Dordrecht. The highest goal of the choir is to sing psalms and spiritual songs in honor of the Lord, who is so worthy of it.The first conductor was Jan Vink Sr. He led the choir for about eight years. In early 1977, Jaap Nieuwenhuis became the conductor of the choir. He led the choir for almost 32 years. In 2008, he said goodbye to the choir and was succeeded by Benno van Luttikhuizen, who until then accompanied the choir on the piano. At the end of 2012, Else-Marie van Luttikhuizen became the conductor of the choir and Benno returned as pianist. From 2016 to 2023, Ellen van Zandwijk was the conductor. Since August 2023, Jenneke Mol has been the conductor. Laurènce Fierens accompanies the choir on the piano. Martijn van der Kolk is our second pianist.
Meanwhile, the choir has grown to over 85 members aged between 5 and 12 years.
Under the guidance of the skilled and enthusiastic duo Jenneke and Laurènce, 'Hosanna' offers a fresh and engaging repertoire and performs in churches and care facilities. In recent years, several CDs have been recorded. In December 2019, the CD 'Hosanna 6' was recorded in the Old Church in Zwijndrecht to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
