Jet Boeke (Wageningen, October 28, 1948) is a Dutch illustrator who has become particularly famous for her drawings of the red tomcat Dikkie Dik. These stories are regularly read aloud on the children's program Sesamstraat. The stories about Dikkie Dik are especially aimed at toddlers.
Dikkie Dik owes his creation to Costa Rica. Here, the cat Domino crossed Jet's path. Domino is the mother of the real Dikkie Dik, who served as the model for the orange tomcat from Sesamstraat. The real Dikkie Dik was actually white, but that color was not suitable for illustration.In 1978,
