Jan Rozendaal was born on September 18, 1984. From a young age, his interest in the organ became apparent: at the age of twelve, he accompanied congregational singing for the first time during church services. After teaching himself the basic principles to some extent, he received lessons from, among others, Arjan Versluis, Jan Bonefaas (improvisation), Everhard Zwart (literature and choral art), Peter Eilander, and Bas de Vroome. He also took some lessons in composition from Martin Zonnenberg.
As a church organist, he is associated with the Reformed Community in Alblasserdam.
Additionally, he weekly guides the congregational singing during services of the Free Evangelization in Giessenburg. As a choir organist, he is affiliated with various singing associations. He is also regularly invited as a guest organist by other choirs. In this capacity, he frequently accompanies well-known soloists and instrumentalists. He participated as a choir accompanist on trips to Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and England.
In 2005, 2007, and 2008, he was the winner of the Feike Asma competition in the age category 20 to 24 years. Over the years, he has contributed to approximately 50 CDs. He has also recorded several organ CDs, including those from Oirschot, The Hague, and Bolsward. There have been various collections of sheet music published by him.
