Mixed choir Sursum Corda (Gouda) (lift up your hearts) has existed since August 31, 1945 and was founded with the goal: singing and performing psalms and spiritual songs. We want to do this to the glory of God and to edify the community. Who is the choir for? The choir is for everyone from the age of 15 who wants to spend an evening singing and making music in a relaxed way. Regardless of level or singing experience. What kind of repertoire do we sing? The repertoire that we study is varied, from old music (chorales by Bach, Mendelssohn) to contemporary arrangements in different styles. (Arrangements of) psalms and hymns are sung. All of this mainly in Dutch, but occasionally also in German or English. Where do we sing? The choir rehearses weekly with great pleasure. The rehearsed music is performed at singing evenings (Christmas and Easter), association days, in nursing homes and at evangelism posts, among other things. We regularly sing with an orchestra. The conductor is Eline Bokkers.
