The mixed choir Cantica was founded in 1935 with the aim of bringing congregational singing into the worship services of the Ger. Gem. in Rijssen.
Over the years, several conductors have stood in front of the choir.
Since 2017, the choir has been under the enthusiastic leadership of Edwin Velvis (1968).
Cantica currently consists of 95 members aged 21 to 85 years.
We are happy that in recent years new (young) members have been joining the choir. This mix of young and older members ensures a stable membership and liveliness in the choir. On average, mixed choir Cantica gives about 8 performances annually.
