Ewald Mauritz

Ewald Mauritz started making music at a young age. His first steps were taken at AMV (General Musical Education). Soon, he followed his first piano lessons close to home. After a few years, he made the transition to the music school in Utrecht, where he received lessons from pianist Paul van der Woude. At a later age, he took piano lessons from Sanja Milohanic in Gouda. He also took improvisation lessons with Peter Groeneboom. Since 2006, Ewald has been a regular continuo player with the baroque ensemble Intermezzo. Here, he has played parts from the Matthew Passion, John Passion, and various cantatas by J.S. Bach, as well as many small and large choral and orchestral works by various composers from the Baroque period and beyond. In 2022, he became the regular pianist for the children's choir Jong Sursum Corda from Gouda.
