Ensemble Parlando

Ensemble Parlando was founded in 1999 and consists of more than twenty enthusiastic members. We rehearse approximately once every two weeks in Doorn, alternating under the direction of one of our conductors: Leander van der Steen and Martien van der Zwan.
Parlando is an Italian musical term meaning "speaking." With this name, we want to express that through our music—particularly oratorios and arrangements of psalms and hymns—we aim to let the text speak.
Our repertoire mainly consists of (lesser-known) classical music and of psalm and hymn arrangements that have been specially composed for Parlando.
