Elbert Drost was born on May 9, 1994 in Ederveen. At a very young age he could be found behind the organ. At the age of 6 he received his first organ lessons from Gert van de Hoef in Veenendaal. After 12 years he continued his lessons with Willem Harold Boog in Zeist, where he still follows his lessons today. His preference is for the French romantic works and the Dutch chorale art, he feels closely connected to the Jan Zwart school. Choral music has also had his attention for many years, which resulted in a choral conducting course at the BZGG. He is currently conducting a mixed choir 'Opent uwen mond' in Scherpenzeel. He regularly participates in singing evenings, he also gives solo organ concerts. Elbert is (or has been) a church organist in various places on Sundays.
