The Echo travel choir was founded in 1995 in Harderwijk on the initiative of Aart Petersen.
Aart was the director of Echo Reizen Harderwijk.
The plan was to make a trip every year with singing enthusiasts to various large churches in different European countries.
In the meantime, singing trips have been made to Heidelberg, Cologne, Wittenberg, Prague, Schwangau, Mainau, Schwering, Lübeck, etc. etc. The size of the choir varied and depended on the number of participants. In the spring, about five rehearsals were held in the large church of Harderwijk, where the pieces were rehearsed that were performed in various churches during the trip.
The largest traveling choir was in Prague in 1995 with more than 700 singers.
After that, the number of singers varied from 200 to 450.
