Dub de Vries was born in 1943 in Urk. By profession he is an offset printer at Mercurius in Wormerveer. Later in life he discovered the organ. Through much self-study he was soon able to accompany the worship service in the Christian Reformed Church in Wormerveer. Later he received lessons from Teke Bijlsma. The singer Helen Sheperd was the one who discovered a talent in him. He was soon asked to make a CD with her. Many CDs followed. Accompanying is his strongest point. He worked with Marco Bakker, Gebr. Brouwer, Caroline Kaart, Iwan Reebroff and Louis van Dijk, among others. As a permanent organist Dub de Vries is associated with the largest choirs in North Holland. Namely the Zaans Interchurch Men's Choir and the Mixed Choir 'Credo' from Landsmeer. He is also known for the series "music for everyone" and "vaste Rots". It is therefore not surprising that his unwavering enthusiasm, musicality and creativity guarantee large numbers of sound carriers that have been distributed throughout the country.
