Chr. Ouddorps Mannenkoor
More than 7.0k times played this month
The Christian Ouddorp Men's Choir is a lively club of +/- 50 enthusiastic men aged 18-80 from 'the head of Goeree' who meet every two weeks on Monday evenings in the beautiful auditorium of that newly built Christian primary school in Ouddorp. Since 2010, the musical direction has been in the hands of Dinant Struik, a passionate male choir conductor for more than 40 years. The regular organist is Stephan Folmer.
The men's choir is not church-connected, but has its supporters in the Reformed denomination where the Holy Scriptures are used as God's Word and the three forms of Enigheed. The repertoire of the Ouddorp Men's Choir is characterized as 'the romantic corner' and consists of psalms and hymns, exclusively in the Dutch language. In general, these are the well-known songs that so many feel at home with and that are interpreted sensitively, with reverence or with jubilation, depending on the text. The Ouddorp Men's Choir is open to new members, but also to participate in concerts or singing evenings in the wider region around South Holland.
