Bram Brandemann

More than 61 times played this month

Bram Brandemann was born in 1969 in Abbenes. He received his first organ lessons in Lisse, among others with Leen Schippers. Once living in Amersfoort, he took lessons with Jaap Zwart jr., who gave him music theory in addition to organ lessons. He continued this education at the Utrecht Conservatory, first with Theo Teunissen, then with Reitze Smits. In 1993 he studied organ at the conservatory in Toulouse (France), with a particular emphasis on French romantic and impressionistic music. In 1994, after an exam that was judged brilliant (among other things the entire Second Sonata by Max Reger), he obtained his diploma Teaching Musician, followed by the diploma Performing Musician (1996). At the latter exam he played, among other things, a complete performance of the one-hour organ work Les Corps Glorieux by Olivier Messianen. He also studied carillon at the Dutch Carillon School with Todd Fair and Bernard Winsemius. Although Bram Brandemann has a preference for music by Bach and Reger, he has never wanted to commit himself to one particular musical style. Improvisation also has his attention. A skill that he mainly applies in worship, on the versatile BAG organ in the Elimkerk in Amersfoort. Bram Brandemann is a teacher at various schools, gives organ lessons, conducts and can regularly be heard as a soloist and as a choir accompanist.
