In October 2009 the idea arose to practice the upper voice with a number of men. This is to be able to contribute to the psalm singing evening on December 5, 2009 in the Reformed Congregation in Opheusden.
Pieter van Dam was asked to take on the musical direction during the rehearsal evenings.

On the first rehearsal evening in November, 18 men were present. During the 2nd evening, the group had already grown to 28 men and the enthusiasm was obvious.
It was a beautiful singing evening on December 5 and after having also sung in Rhenen in January 2010, the conclusion was quickly drawn that there was enough interest to start an upper voice group in the Betuwe.
The goal is to sing psalms in a relaxed way with men from the Betuwe and the surrounding region with the upper voice and to participate in (psalm) singing evenings a number of times a year. The psalms are sung non-rhythmically from the rhyme of 1773.
