Arthur Mahler (1952) has extensive experience as a performing and teaching musician due to his many and varied activities. In addition to his position at Het Gelders Orkest, where he met Ab Weegenaar as a bassoonist/organist at the time, he worked freelance as a baroque oboist with renowned ensembles such as The Amsterdam Baroque and The Academy of Ancient Music in London and taught oboe and baroque oboe at the conservatories of Maastricht, Utrecht and Arnhem. He gave numerous recitals, chamber music concerts and performed as a soloist with various orchestras. Arthur Mahler is also active as a conductor; in the reviews of the many performances he has led with choirs, orchestras and ensembles, the interesting programming and the inspiring and honest music-making are remarkably often mentioned.
