Arcangelo is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed period performance ensemble led by founder and artistic director Jonathan Cohen. Renowned for applying the intimacy and artistry of chamber music to all its repertoire, the ensemble’s energy and excellence have earned widespread critical acclaim, five-star reviews, and invitations to leading international venues and festivals. In 2024, Arcangelo was named the first-ever Principal Ensemble in Residence at the London Handel Festival and was previously the first Baroque Ensemble in Residence at Wigmore Hall, where it maintains a close artistic partnership. Highlights include performances at the BBC Proms, Vienna Konzerthaus, Barbican Centre, Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Sala São Paulo, and regular collaborations with leading soloists.

Arcangelo’s discography comprises 30 acclaimed recordings, including the first new British studio recording in nearly 25 years of Handel’s Theodora, Grammy-nominated and multiple award-winning releases, and concept albums praised by Gramophone. In 2020, Arcangelo launched its New Ensemblists programme, a two-year training scheme supporting the next generation of period performance musicians.
