Albert van der Hoeven (1963) from Zeist, was born in Utrecht. He received his first organ lessons from his father and coaxed his first psalm melodies on the harmonium at the age of 5. After private lessons and the Music School in Utrecht, he continued his studies at the Conservatory in Utrecht and Zwolle, where Jan Welmers, Jaap Dragt and Nico Waasdorp were his teachers.
He obtained his diploma as a performing musician and his teaching qualifications here. He then took interpretation lessons with Daniël Roth in Paris.
In 1989, Albert van der Hoeven received a grant from private funds to study in Paris at the famous Shcola Cantorum with 'le maitre' Jean' Langlais and Madame Marie Louise Jacquet - Langlais.
In 1990 he obtained the "Prix de Virtuosité" cum laude here.
Van der Hoeven is currently still studying interpretation at the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris".
Van der Hoeven works as a concert organist at home and abroad, where he has managed to carve out a place for himself on international concert stages.
He is organist of the Reformed Church (G.B.) in Houten and Zeist.
